What is Reiki?

Reiki is a method for working with the body’s energy system to stimulate its natural healing abilities, established in Japan in 1922 by Mikao Usui. The word Reiki (霊 Rei–spirit; 気 Ki–energy, life force) describes the universal energy that flows through all life and matter, which we work with during the treatment. A Reiki treatment is the process of receiving and letting this energy flow from the “天 Ten” (universe, heavens, cosmos) through the practitioner and to the patient, assisting and enhancing the body’s inherent capacity to heal.

What is a Reiki Session Like?

Receiving Reiki is a deeply restful and restorative experience. You remain fully clothed and lie on a treatment table while Reiki is applied through gentle touch. Of course, if you prefer not to be touched, this is completely respected and Reiki can be offered just above the body.

My Approach

My therapeutic work is rooted in the belief that healing is an embodied process integrating the emotional, mental and physical self. My intention is to offer a nurturing, trauma-informed space that allows you to meet yourself with compassion and acceptance of your emotional and somatic experiences that may arise during the treatment. My work with Reiki is grounded and deeply attuned to your body’s energy system. By assisting your body’s inherent healing ability, we create a safe space for you to release energetic and emotional blockages, allowing your body’s natural intelligence to replenish its energy stores.

Reiki Jin Kei Do

Jin–compassion; Kei–wisdom; Do–way, path

I trained in a Reiki lineage called Jin Kei Do, the path of compassion and wisdom, passed from Mikao Usui, Dr Chujiro Hayashi, Venerable Takeuchi, Venerable Seiji Takamori, Dr Ranga Premaratna and Edith Anny Izsak. This path, influenced by the principles of Zen monks Takeuchi and Takamori, and further deepened by Takamori’s immersion in Tibetan Buddhism, emphasises personal cultivation to bring harmony and connection of the heart (compassion) and mind (wisdom). This growth is cultivated through meditation, various Qigong exercises (Qi is the Chinese equivalent to the Japanese word Ki) and mindful integration of these principles in one’s life.

I am currently undergoing an intensive training in Esoteric Soul Healing. As part of this training, I am offering free sessions (which also allow me to practice).

What is Esoteric Soul Healing?

Esoteric Soul Healing is a form of energy healing that works with the energies of the whole person—the physical and energetic bodies, emotions, thoughts, personality and Soul. The Soul is the part of us that is eternal, connects us to each other, the divine and all life, and is filled with universal love. Healing is a process of returning to “wholeness” within yourself by redressing imbalances that have built up in the emotions, mind and body. Soul Healers recognise the presence of the Soul in all people and work with these powerfully transformative energies to facilitate people in their healing. What is a Soul Healing Session Like?

Soul Healing can be a meaningful and transformative experience. I’ll ask about your current complaints and past ailments. During the Healing you remain fully clothed and lie on a treatment table while I address imbalances in the energy body using gentle touch. Of course, if you prefer not to be touched, this is completely respected and I can work just above the body.
